Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does mindSpark Learning offer the PD for teachers? Does it take place at our school or at their Lakewood, CO facility?

A: Trainings may be done at either location depending on availability and size of your group. All grant awards involve programs and learning offered by mindSpark Learning.

Q: The grant funding pays for mindSpark Learning's programs?

A: Yes - this can be for any of the four Institutes offered through mindSpark Learning (send small groups, etc.), or for the custom-designed professional learning for your entire staff, small teams/departments, etc. mindSpark Learning can easily design something for 1/2 day, full day, one or more days, etc. Training must be completed by June 2019.

Q: When are the training sessions/PD opportunities?

A: Please review mindSpark Learning's options under the "Program Offerings" folder linked in the navigation bar on THIS website. All details about mindSpark Learning's programs are outlined there.

Q: What key information do I need to know when authoring the grant application?

A: Timeline - If your application is approved, mindSpark Learning will need a signed Terms & Conditions on file by the last day of the month. Morgridge Family Foundation funds the grant directly to your school (50% of the final program cost) on the 15th of the following month, and then the school pays the invoice in full by the 15th of the next month. For example, terms would be signed by April 30th, funding would come on May 15th and the invoice would be due June 15th. The committee reviews and approves grants on a rolling weekly basis. Funds will be distributed until November, or until they've run out.

Q: Is there anything else I need to know about the grant process?

A: Please be as detailed as possible with your application. Include number of people, types of roles or teams who would attend, outcomes and dates if possible. This will help mindSpark Learning gauge the pricing, which they'll need to know before submitting to the committee so the committee can approve the 50% matching amount, the type of work and the terms of the delivery.
